Requirements to obtain the Status of Recognized Experiment

In order to be considered for obtaining the status of Recognized Experiment, experiments must meet all of the following criteria:

  • The experiment conducts research in a field allied to particle physics, such as astroparticle or nuclear physics, and
  • The experiment has substantial participation of physicists from several CERN Member States, and
  • The experiment is approved by relevant agencies and is reasonably funded. It is assumed that the process leading to approval has considered scientific, technical and funding aspects, and that regular reviews of these aspects are in place.

If your experiment meets the requirements and you wish to apply, please follow the steps in 'Application Procedure'
