New Requests:
Experiments willing to apply for the status of CERN Recognized Experiment should send a letter with such request to the Scientific Secretary and fill a questionnaire specifying what kind of support they need. A representative of the experiment will be invited to give a presentation at an upcoming meeting of the committee.

Extensions:
Experiments currently Recognized will be contacted in due time to confirm their wish to extend their status. They should fill a questionnaire specifying the support they need. A representative of the experiment will be invited to give a presentation at an upcoming meeting of the committee.

After the meeting, the committee submits a recommendation to the Research Board on all applications reviewed. When there is approval of the Research Board, an official Memorandum of Understanding is prepared and signed by the experiment's spokesperson (or a designated person) and the CERN Director for Research.
